Our Response to These Times

To Our Community:

The majority of our garments are produced at @bluesewingmanufacture - a manufacturing facility we own and operate in Mexico. This enables us to maintain full transparency of our supply chain, including everything from ensuring fair wages and great benefits for our employees, to quality control and fast turnaround times for our products.

In an effort to provide some relief for our community, we have started the production of face masks. We are keeping it simple: All masks are made from up-cycled fabrics, these are comprised of 95% Cotton, 5% Spandex, and are machine washable. They are not surgical grade, but can provide protection and support to those outside the medical community.

Rest assured that we are implementing the proper prevention practices to keep our facility operating safely. Our workers stay 6ft apart, have breaks to wash their hands and clean the facility, and wear face masks at all times.

Starting next Thursday April 9th every H&V order will include a face mask for your protection (while supplies last). They will also be for sale separately on our website for “at cost” price - meaning we are only charging what it costs for us to make them and are not profiting off of the product.

BLM Initiative

We’ve taken our time to create an initiative that we believe can make an impact:

1. We have donated to UNCF.org to support those in the black community who wish to pursue a higher education.

2. We are taking steps to educate ourselves in order to better understand how our brand can represent and support the black community. We will be providing books as a resource to our entire team.

3. In an effort to be more inclusive, we will be submitting applications to multiple HBCU Universities in the hopes of being able to carry apparel for these schools. Carrying officially licensed HBCU apparel also means that with every product you buy, a percentage of the sale goes to them.(These approvals will ultimately be up to each institution, but we will work our hardest to get approved. We are open to suggestions for any specific schools!)

4. As a company, we pledge to do more and will work to have a better representation of the black community.

We will continue to stand and open up about what we believe in. We are grateful for your love and support and we’ll keep working hard in building a brand where everyone feels welcome. 🖤

PS. Expect delays in orders.

As a safety measure we are only allowing one employee at a time at our warehouse, which is delaying our orders by 2-3 days.

Rest assured we are doing our best to keep our employees safe and that your order will be delivered ❣️
